carabaasTaxi drivers, armed with sticks and bricks, protested Tuesday against a new bus system they fear will drive them out of business in Johannesburg. Police fired rubber bullets at the drivers, who blocked roads. More than 500 minibus taxis have been scrapped ahead of next summer’s soccer World Cup there.
